Blog Post #1 - Pop culture insight
I believe that pop culture influences society in two completely different ways. The way the culture influences people, depends solely on the type of person listening to the music. There are people who allow music to become their life, and then there are people who allow music to only be a form of entertainment. To elaborate on that statement, those who allow music to become their life lets the music influence their actions. They look at music as a guide and aspire to do and/or be what those artists are portraying in their music; rather it be in regards to violence, self improvement, the gaining of money, or lust/sex. So for those types of people, the music can influence them negative or positively. In regards to the people who use music for entertainment, the music can have little to no influence at all, because music is passing of time to them, a way to relax, or a way to enjoy life. In a way, all types of music genres an be both positive or negative, and it depends on the artists that each person decided to listen to because each artist has different meanings and purposes with their music. I try to embrace different genres and styles, so I listen to majority of the music genres, but my favorites are R&B and rap. This semester I would like to learn how to better formulate my sentences and enhance my grammer. In terms of a title for the blog, I would say "Rewriting Pop Culture".

I definitely agree, that pop culture is a global phenomenon. It doesn't just stay within our culture or America. It is known around the world. Everyone has the ability with one click of a button to view what is going in music, movies, technology, or politics. There isn't any specifics on what makes pop culture, but we have major historical moments that have impacted our lives. These moments are showing us that people are changing and acknowledging more of what is going on in their community. People are not turning a blind eye and stepping up for what is right.
